This coming Saturday, I am flying out Salt Lake City, UT in order to ski two days (Sunday and Monday) at Snowbasin resort near Ogden, UT. The current forecast puts at least a foot of snow up there over the course of this week and perhaps more depending on how this storm system shapes up. Snow should finish up by Friday so my flight on Saturday and then driving up there should be fine. Then I can enjoy some freshish powder for my first ski day of the season!
I usually try to avoid skiing holiday weekends so that is why I am going later in the weekend since most people will leave early monday while I am for sure skiing the whole day. Plus I chose on of the less popular mountains on my Mountain Collective Pass that still has plenty of lifts and a well laid out mountain. So it should be a great trip. I will be back to Utah the first week of February for Alta/Snowbird with friends so hopefully more snow is on the horizon as well.
As for the rest of my season, I am looking to ski at either Sun Valley, ID in two weekends from now or make a drive up to Mammoth. Then after the second Utah trip, I am putting together plans for Tahoe (Squaw Valley), BC Canada (Revelstoke, Banff), and Aspen. And hopefully if the season allows for it, some April-May-June Mammoth and Squaw.
