That’s her in the pink helmet. Photos are from my iPhone XR. One of these days I’ll drag my SLR out with me.

Took my 9 year old yesterday. First time without an instructor. We had 10" the night before and the sun was out all day so it was a perfect day for learning. This was her 4th day ever and 2nd riding a chair lift. We stuck to the 270' beginner lift (just $24 for me!) that services 3 greens and 1 short blue run. By the end of the day she was turning like a boss. No falls the last two hours of the day and we finished on the blue slope. She had a blast. Next time out I think she’s ready for the 900' lift!

Lift broke down when we were at the front of the line. Took them about 15 minutes to get it going. Glad I wasn’t halfway up.

This is the blue trail accessible from the beginner lift. It’s the lower third of a run that starts as a black at the top of a higher lift. Steeper and narrower than the main beginner hill and never groomed. It’s nothing too intense, but was still a little scary for her. Once I explained that she was already making a tighter lines than this trail needed and convinced her to start down it she went down without a hitch.
